Thank you for the ID, Sckel. Yes, there were ants around. Actually, the presence of non-Ata ants going up and down a stem or branch is one of the hints for finding treehoppers.

O gênero é Notogonioides sp. Parabéns por encontrar, esses são meus xodós do quintal. Eles raspam a epiderme da planta, passam um tipo de "cola" e botam os ovos ali, uma vez que eles não produzem aquela massa. Voce viu formigas por perto? Eles praticam cuidado parental, alguns por opção, somente enquanto os ovos não eclodem, porque eles são mirmecófilos, mesmo que eles abandonem os ovos, as formigas irão cuidar deles e dos bebes.
