Fibre Cap

Inocybe sp.

An attractive, small clump of dark brown mushrooms with concentric rings of broken re-curved fibres on conical caps. Stem appeared to have fibrils and was the same colour as the gills - a pale brown. Caps were about 20 m wide.

Spotted on a suburban lawn. A few mature mushrooms were seen nearby; these had flattened and darker caps.

Don't know the species. Hope to receive some assistance with identifying these mushrooms with distinctive caps.
