Lesser Yellowlegs

Tringa flavipes

Description:

They have a long, dark bill, small head, yellow legs, and streaking on their breast. Brown wings with white spots and white underparts.

Habitat:

Habitat: In the intertidal zone, foraging with friends, including the Semipalmated Sandpiper pictured in the lower right.

Notes:

I debated whether this bird (on the left) was a greater or lesser yellowlegs, but *think* it is a lesser yellowlegs. But, it also resembles a Solitary Sandpiper or a Stilt Sandpiper. Any input is welcome!
