Western Trumpet Honeysuckle(Orange)

Lonicera ciliosa

Description:

Glowing from the backlighting of the late afternoon sun, this orange honeysuckle vine was climbing on all the surrounding plants. Tubular flowers loved by the hummingbirds of the area. They can reach a height of 6 m!

Habitat:

Native forest around the Beaver Pond to the south of Hwy 3 as it cuts through Manning Park, BC. North Cascades mountain range, Pacific Northwest.

Notes:

In this area there are Rufous and Caliope Hummingbirds that feed on the honeysuckle.
