This is a male Ground Skimmer (Diplacodes trivialis). The female is green with black markings like the male and quite common. They usually perch on the ground and rarely flies above 1 meter in height. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplacodes_... & http://www.naturemagnified.com/2010/03/g...
