Two-striped walking stick

Anisomorpha buprestoides, female

Description:

About 4" long, black and white/cream stripes. This one is unusually single. Most of the time there is a teeny male riding on her back.

Habitat:

Long-leaf Pine Sand hill.

Notes:

THIS particular lady, however was apparently "auditing" our Florida Master Naturalist Class, as it was right up front, about 4 feet from the teacher, and about 6 feet from me. I believe I am the only one who noticed it! ;P Not bad for someone who needs new bifocals, eh?
