Killdeer

Charadrius vociferus

Description:

The killdeer is the only shorebird with two black neck bands. Has a very distinctive "kill-deer" call. Brown back and white belly. Female same as male.

Habitat:

These killdeer were spotted in the marshes of Buccaneer State Park in Waveland, Mississippi.
