Moth

Garaeus sp.

Description:

Roughly semi-lunar in shape. This moth has wings that are upturned at the tips. The colour is mottled... like coagulated or clotted blood. At the bottom centre is a slender patch of dirty green. I supposethis moth could pass for a leaf in a forest where there are fall colours.

Habitat:

Drawn to the porch light of the cottage at village Kolakham, Kalimpong Hills of Darjiling district. Altitude about 1868m. Area is remote and forested.

Notes:

It's shape reminded me of chandrapuli a semi-lunar shaped Bengali homemade sweet. I need an ID, please.
