Tragelaphus scriptus
Stockily built, with short neck and legs. Colour and markings vary with sex and locality and between individuals. In southern South Africa males are dark brown with a few white spots on the flanks and thighs, and a crest of yellowish hair down the middle of the back. In all forms there is a white patch high on the throat and a white band at the base of the neck.
Dense cover in the underbush of woodland and forest
It was stending right under a tiny artificial cliff surrounding the lodge. Between us was an electric fence, which I almost fell into while trying to take pictures. She was continously scratching herself and in the 4th photo you can see the fly finally escaping
