Description:

medium size shorebird with plain creamy white breast, to buffy on the sides and neck with plain brown back and ornately patterned wings and yellow legs. Elegant upright carriage. Males are larger than females Breeds in the polar regions of N America and Asia, winters in S America and Oceana.

Habitat:

marshy area near beach

Notes:

Identification comes from the Oregon online Bird list: Respondents all felt sure it was a pectoral and it is not an uncommonly spotted migrant, especially where this one was sighted
