Portuguese Man-o'-War

Physalia physalis


Found in the open ocean in tropical and subtropical regions drifting at the surface with winds and currents. Strong winds may drive them into bays or onto beaches where they wash up.


There quite a few washed up this morning. As you can see in the 2 last photos one seemed to have washed up with it's last meal still in tow.
