Blue Jay

Cyanocitta cristata

Description:

In my yard and the surrounding houses, Northern Cardinals dominated throughout the Spring, although jays could be heard up the block. Around late June, Blue Jays started coming into the yard, perhaps because the Northern Cardinals had finished their territorial mating competitions.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard / trees.
