Black Phoebe

Sayornis nigricans

Description:

Mostly gray/black bird with what appeared to be a white belly, but it was difficult to see because it wouldn't turn around all the way. It was hanging out at this pond most the time I was there, looking at the water as if it were hunting, though I never saw it eat anything.

Habitat:

Pond at Helen Putnam Regional Park.
