Standing Cypress

Ipomopsis rubra

Description:

About 1 meter tall. Numerous small, trumpet-shaped flowers along the stem. Corolla perhaps 1/2" in diameter, 5 petals. Leaves of plant are thin, thread-like, about 1" long. Attracted a sulfur butterfly while I was there.

Habitat:

Off the shoulder of the road, entrance to Silver River State Park.
