'Italian Ice' Cherry tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Description:

'Italian Ice' is considered a hybrid cultivar. Ivory white, 1.5" in diameter hybrid cherry. Very sweet, sweetens even more as the tomatoes ripen from white to a slight yellow blush in full sunlight (whiter if grown in shade). Regular-leafed plant. Italian Ice grows as an Annual and is a Fruit. Being an Annual, it tends to grow best over the course of a single year. Italian Ice is known for growing to a height of approximately 1.20 metres (3.90 feet). Mexico is believed to be where Italian Ice originates from. Italian Ice Tomato is normally fairly low maintenance and is normally quite easy to grow, as long as a level of basic care is provided throughout the year. Being aware of the basic soil, sun and water preferences will result in a happier and healthier plant.

Habitat:

Plant in a location that enjoys full sun and remember to water moderately. Keep in mind when planting that Italian Ice is thought of as tender, so remember to wait until your soil is warm and the night time temperature is well above freezing before moving outside. Use USDA Hardiness Zone 3 - 14 as your guideline for the appropriate climate for this plant. Ideally plant in loamy soil and try to keep the ph of your soil between the range of 5.0 and 6.0 as Italian Ice likes to be in moderately acidic soil to weakly acidic soil.
