Leaf Katydid

Typophyllum bolivari (male)

Description:

One of the smaller Leaf Katydids, at around 4cm from head to the wind tips. I find it amazing, as it mimics a leaf that's been partially eaten by other insects to perfection, including the brown edges of the chewed sections.

Habitat:

Tropical rainforest in the Ecuadorian Amazon region near Tena.
