Little Blue Heron

Egretta caerulea


An abundant wader throughout much of the Southeast. Adults are slate blue and juveniles are pure white with monocolored green legs, blue bills, and dark primaries, differentiating them from similar white waders. Subadults can be mottled black, white, and blue.
