Pleuroploca gigantea
This is the state shell of Florida I discovered today
This looks a lot more like a Channeled Whelk I think. The Horse Conch seems to have a much pointier shell with big knobbs:Horse Conch (Pleuroploca gigantea): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triplofusus...Channeled Whelk (Busycon canaliculatum): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channeled_w...The wikipedia page for the Channeled Whelk isn't fantastic but there are decent images online of the shells.Nice find!
