Aloe vera

Description:

Grey-green toothed rigid, fleshy leaves, 1-2ft. long, forming rosettes 2-3ft. tall. Orangish tubular flowers grouped on top of tall, erect stems hang down in tiers.

Habitat:

Garden setting with winter protection.

Notes:

Aloe was described by the Egyptians more than 3000 years ago, and has been used medicinally and cosmetically for at least that long.
