Hednota pleniferellus
About 25mm wingspan. Typical Hednota type patterns and colours but with extra dark markings around some of the patterns.
Resting on shaded wall at the local school near midday.
superfamily: PYRALOIDEA family: CRAMBIDAE subfamily: CRAMBINAE
Did you see that, Mark: "SWEET!" ... and you wanted to delete that shot! :-))
Thanks, Leanne!
I would not remove it if it is a separate spotting besides the others. If you look at the others you might see quite a variability, so your 4th spotting would also be an important contribution for a) location of record, b) demonstration of variability, c) different views of the same moth, maybe under different light. All important for others to compare with their spottings #4 or #8 ;-)...
Yep you're right bayucca. Sorry but I'm removing this spotting. It's my fourth pleniferellus. I was hoping it might be a different species.
Not another one! One day I hope to find different a Hednota. There are a few around somewhere. Thanks doc.
Crambidae, Crambinae, Hednota sp. and should be Hednota pleniferellus.
