Black-crowned Night Heron

Nycticorax nycticorax

Description:

It was making its nest in the tree. This was a wild bird that came into the park to nest. I typically only see these active in the evening as the name suggests, but I think during nest making they are active during the daytime a little more.

Habitat:

In an oak tree near the river at Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park
