Small beetle about 10mm long, red, yellow black head and legs.
Short elytra exposing a pointed orange abdomen.
On grass in fringe suburban yard.

especially, the puncture rows along pronotal and elytral base are clearly visible on a close look. No Erotylid has that, and it is also not found in any Scaphidiine beetle . . .
Ha ha... no you did well. There is not much of that pointy abdomen showing but just enough I think. I must do better pictures next time. Maybe a new camera too.
