Trace fossils (a.k.a. ichnofossils) of what is most likely worm tracks. Trace fossils (also called ichnofossils or lebenspuren) are the evidence of animal's activity. The rock measure ~35 mm (1.4 in) wide, ~34.75 mm (1.36 in) long and ~3.8 (.15 in) thick. The long track fossil measures ~23 mm (.93 in) long and ~2 mm (.08 in wide). The shorter track fossil measures ~13 mm (.52 in) long and ~2 mm (.07 in) wideThis fossil dates to the Devonian Period (416-359.2 million years ago). I believe the rock is Chagrin shale.
