Eight-spotted Forester

Alypia octomaculata

Description:

Small, thin black and white and orange banded caterpillar. Orange/rusty colored face. Found munching on my grape vines. it was maybe 1/2 in long. Looks like it may have spewed something on the underside of the leaf, that emerald blob was close to it's face.

Habitat:

west central ga

Notes:

I feel like I've seen one of these before, but I can't place it. I'm thinking 8-spotted forester, though this one looks a bit skinny.
