Red Junglefowl

Gallus gallus

Description:

Introduced Southeast Asian Burmese species. Fiery Orange brown feathers along the neck, with iridescent black and purple tail feathers, stringy brown shoulder feathers over iridescent green.

Habitat:

The poultry is allowed to roam around the streets of Fitzgerald, GA since they were introduced in the 60s for wild game hunting. That didn't work out and the birds preferred roaming the streets of the city center and flourished ever since.

Notes:

These birds are so loud. If you don't see them, roll down your window and drive to the sound of loud yard birds. These Junglefowl species are so striking with rich browns, irridescent dark green and purple feathers.
