Bison Stag Beetle

Thanks, Pochempie! It would be very helpful if you make a note under the spotting about this fact. It would safe a lot of time for IDer, if they know at which corner of the globe they should start with the search.

It's not a species from the Netherlands. I keep them as my pet. The Local zoo is my food supplier!

This is a stag beetle. It is the male bison stag (Prosopocoilus bison). (sometimes called Metopodontus bison) I think they come from Papua New Guinea.

Thanks, looks similar indeed and I think it is a Lucanidae, but most probably not from my aera. Let's see what Pochempie means.

I think that's a stag beetle, but I might be wrong.
