American Goldfinch

Spinus tristis (Linnaeus, 1758)

Description:

The American goldfinch (Spinus tristis), also known as the eastern goldfinch, is a small North Americanbird in the finch family. It is migratory, ranging from mid-Alberta to North Carolina during the breeding season, and from just south of the Canadian border to Mexico during the winter.

Habitat:

SE Idaho with a semi-arid region.

Notes:

These are a male and female that are just changing from their winter plumage to the summer plumage. Got them both to come to my feeder.
