Description:

Cortinarius? Stem 'strongly longitudinally fibrous', cap about 3cm across and not as crumbly as I expected. Spore print rusty brown. Growing under silver birch. cap faintly striated around the edge (see 2nd pic)

These (or similar looking mushrooms) were growing in a few places on this golf course always under silver birch. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/146... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/146...

yeah they were a bit slimy but not like slug-trail slimy. The stems were kinda fibrillose.
