Gambel's Quail

Callipepla gambelii

Description:

Principally a ground-dwelling bird. This was spotted in Patagonia, AZ in a wooded area close to Harshaw Creek. There were approximately 5 of these birds spotted in the area in a group.

Habitat:

This area is in the Sonoran Desert, not far north of the US/Mexico border.
