A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
These three little bees are nectaring on Liatris at Wekiva Springs State Park, in Apopka Florida. They are about 1/2" long. At first I thought they may be leaf-cutters, but as I looked more closely at my slightly-blurry- photo (sorry!) I did not see the "Fuzzy Belly" that leaf-cutters have. Which led me to the possibility of Mason Bees? These do have the fuzzy faces of Mason Bee males.
Pine Sandhill.
