Brachiopod Fossil

Description:

One rock, two fossils. This rock has two mold fossils of brachiopods. The rock measures ~103 mm (4.05 in) wide, ~81 mm (3.2 in) high and ~5.2 mm (.20 in) thick. Fossil #1 measures ~12.25 mm(.48 in) long and ~1.6 mm (.06 in) wide. These fossils date to the Devonian Period (416-359.2 million years ago). The rock is Cleveland Shale.

Habitat:

Euclid Creek, Euclid, Ohio.

The close up pictures were taken with a Digital Blue QX5 USB Microscope at 10x power.
