Phidippus sp.
Jumping Spider with spotted Cucumber Beetle.
Grasslands.
This spider vigorously defended its catch, even after I put a finger behind it to coax it out into the open.
Yeah, jumpers tend to be fairly shy. I was thrilled to get this good a picture. This one didn't seem at all interested in giving up its meal. It stood its ground and let me get some pictures.
CHOMP! One less pesky beetle. Great action shot! My jumpers have mostly been too shy to let me take pictures of them with their meals.
Woww:: Asombroso que buen toma y excelente macro, se nota el detalle de la acción; felicidades..
Great capture Keith! Atul is correct, this is a phidippus species, you can tell by the metallic chelicerae & the tufts on the cephalothorax.
