A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Philemon corniculatus
This bird had a red eye, black head with whitish front and white on his tail. He had a grub in his beak. It is a honeyeater!! It looks like a Noisy Friarbird but there is also a Helmeted Friarbird.
Eucalypt forest and eats nectar, fruit, insects and other invertebrates and sometimes eggs or baby birds.
Helmet Friarbird & Silver-crowned are both northern species & do not have as much black on the head.

Thanks for the identification Argy Bee! I'm really enjoying capturing the birds and its great to have somewhere to show them off!
Looks like a Friar bird to me. Well done - you're building a good collection.
