Cereus peruvianus
Tall columnar cactus with 4 ridges and very short spines. Large white flower. The flower only lasted a day. This spring when the cactus reached about 8 feet, and the plant became too awkward to move easily, I cut it in half and rooted the top. The bottom promptly popped out a bud which shot up 2 ft over the summer. The top half flowered in September.
