LUNA MOTH

Actias luna

Description:

I spotted these 2 Luna Moths earlier this year Male+Female one had a tail and the other did not. A vivid green with a maroon outline and what appears to look like 4 eyes on the back. 1. 5"x 7" 2. 5"x 10"

Habitat:

This moth is found in North America from east of the Great Plains in the United States to northern Mexico and from Saskatchewan eastward through central Quebec to Nova Scotia in Canada.

Notes:

I very seldom get to find these but once in a great while I get to see their great beauty.
