Haemulon sciurus
Photo take at -50 ft on a coral reef this school of grunt is very common on this reef. Fish with a basic, 'fish-like' shape, with a sloping head with a relatively large mouth, a tapering body and a notched tail. Body with blue horizontal stripes over a yellow-gold background. Tail and rear end of dorsal fin dark with light margins; other fins yellow. Size up to 46 cm.
Drift in small to midsize schools, asociated to coral reefs down to 30 meters. From Florida all the Caribbean sea, Central America to North Brazil.
