Goldenrod Crab Spider

Misumena vatia - Female

Description:

A vibrant spider that likes to ambush its prey. She tried several tactics to get rid of me -- first trying to make herself big and menacing by spreading her forelegs as wide as possible, then she tried hiding under the daisy, then just tried to our run me!

Habitat:

Small clearing in coniferous woods near a small lake.

Notes:

The flower is an Oxeye Daisy: Leucanthemum vulgare
