Orange Jelly

Dacrymyces chysospermus

Description:

Yellow-orange gelatinous fungus. Often mistaken for Witch's Butter (Tremella mesenterica), especially when it is younger and more folded looking. They soak up moisture pretty well and swell up and become paler.

Habitat:

Rotting log in a mixed forest
