Lavandula pedunculata
Easy to recognize by its butterfly-like petals on top of its narrow stalk. It is an evergreen shrub uo to 80 cm. high, very aromatic. The real flowers are the small violet flowers in the ovoid heads while the two petals on top are sterile and are only to attract insects.
Native of Spain, Morocco and Turkey. Spotted at an open Holm oak and pie tree forest. Dehesa de Valdelatas
