Green Dragontail

Lamproptera Meges

Description:

Tiny little quick darting butterfly. About 3 cm in size. Black with blue-ish white. long feathered out tails that have tiny white dots. The end tips of the tail are white. It is very quick, and does not sit still long.

Habitat:

Near a hot spring near some jungle area, in the mud of a dirt track.

Notes:

I saw quite a few of these tiny darting creatures and first i thought they were some small kind of dragonflies. BUT then I saw that they were butterflies and I was in awe. So I bored my partner trying to get close enough to take a nice shot. They kind of wirr their long tails while drinking, they make a circular in out movement. Very cute. They are skiddish and fly of quickly. Lovely fairytale like butterfly.
