Panthiades bathildis
Photo take in my backyard this is a rare Hairstreak i cant find any ID from it small about 2 cm wingspan white and black stripes along the underwings all stripes start from the tail that has a orange color whit a black spot and filaments on the back, has a orange mark on top of the head, and black eyes. Very unusual on on the right wing has a blue and black mark on top of the wing and on the left wing there is not mark. i have never seen anything like this hope i can get an ID????
Found on an open area with many wild flowers this one was having nectar from one of this flowers.
This one is easy to confuse whit the Togarna Hairstreak / Arawacus togarna http://butterfliesofamerica.com/arawacus... but this one has no orange marks on the top wings and abdomen, is different .
Sorry Gerardo for the wrong ID. Didn't pay enough attention to all the details :( it is a beautiful spotting.
Wonderful!!
Lycaenidae, Panthiades bathildis, the male (!). Laothus erybathis has no orange behind the eyes.
