animal droppings

Description:

droppings found in a meadow, almost entirely made up of purple berries and small light brown seeds

Habitat:

meadow

Notes:

I've been finding some interesting animal droppings lately. From a mink at work last week to these yesterday. Though I'm definitely not a fecalpheliac, I do find some droppings worth photographing when they look nothing like the conventional appearance of feces. I had a friend joke that this and the mink droppings could easily be mistaken for some kind of healthy Kashi (or other brand) fruit/energy bar!

I'm thinking it may be raccoon now. There are a lot of them in the area.

I think that badger is a strong possibility.

It's definitely not a bear. They aren't in the Niagara region. Was doing some research on the badger and it appears that Niagara is in the extreme east of it's range and that its range is expanding. I've never seen one, but it could be a possibility. It's good idea, I had not thought of badger and did not know they could be found here.

Dandoucette, from what I gathered from the picture about it's form, the only suggestion have left is that of a " Bear". Just wondering,do yo have badgers out there?
Coyotes, wolves, lions.cats etc have a different form.

Nope, no cows anywhere near the park.

If you found these in a meadow, were there any cows grazing?

I did think deer but theirs is usually more digested and in pellet form. It seems to be from a medium to large size mammal and there isn't that many in this area. Maybe coyote or fox, I'm not sure.
