Southern Two-toed Sloth

Choloepus didactylus

Description:

Mainly leaf eaters and related to the ant-eaters of South America, the sloth is a slow moving creature that spends nearly all it's time hanging upside-down from branches and vines.

Habitat:

Arboreal & generally solitary in nature, these animals may be found throughout most of the rain forests of Amazonia.

Notes:

This specimen was located at the Tulsa Zoo & Living Museum's Tropical American Rain Forest in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
