Slug or snail is a common name given to a member of the class Gastropoda mollusks. In a narrow sense, the term given to those who have coiled shells in the adult stage. In a broad sense, which is also the meaning of "Gastropoda", includes snails and slugs nude (snails without shells, in the Java language known as resrespo). Gastropoda class ranks second largest in terms of number of species members after Insecta (insects). Habitat, shape, behavior, and anatomy of snails varies a great deal among its members.
The majority of snail species are marine animals. Many also live in terrestrial, freshwater, and even brackish water. Most snails are herbivorous, though some species that live on land and sea can be omnivorous or carnivorous predator.
