Flea Beetle

Aulacophora lewisii

Description:

Flea Beetle is a general name applied to the small, jumping beetles of the leaf beetle family (Chrysomelidae). They make up the tribe Alticini, which is a part of the subfamily Galerucinae. Aulacophora lewisii, also called Chrysomelid Leaf Beetle, was first scientifically described in 1886 by Baly. The head, pronotum, abdomen, legs and antennae are orange-yellow, elytra black. Body length is about 5-6.5mm.

Habitat:

Backyard garden in Biñan Laguna, Philippines.
