Description:

Amorphous blob attached to tree litter along hiking trail

Habitat:

Pacific Northwest montane mixed coniferous and deciduous forest ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted along Indian Trail in Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park near Issaquah. Essentially shapeless ; it appears to be spreading--note the delicate, filigree-like extension on the right.
