Description:

Aka the frilled dogwinkle. About 3 inches long. This whelk is a predator, feeding largely on mussels and barnacles.

Habitat:

Spotted on a rock at low tide. Rocky beach along Strait Of Juan de Fuca.

Notes:

Range extends from the Bering Strait and the Aleutian Islands to central California.
