Rough Green Snake

Opheodrys aestivus

Description:

This snake unknowingly saved a privet bush from certain destruction today. Was reaching for my machete when I noticed it hanging from a vine partially attached to the privet, did not want to disturb the snake so the privet lives another day.

Habitat:

forest/meadow edge
