Very interesting, al of the sudden I started spotting them in the garden. See one almost every day now. Wish all flies where this pretty!

S. lunata is an important egg predator of some major African agricultural pests, the South African Brown locust (Locustana pardalina), the more widespread Desert locust (Schistocerca gregaria), and the migratory locust (Locustana migratoria). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stomorhina
