Clipper Butterfly

Parthenos sylvia

Description:

In garden at Calloway Gardens,Pine Mountain, Georgia. Is it possible this one could be a Blue Tiger butterfly? I have photos of other Blue Tiger butterflies and this one doesn't look quite right to me to be a Blue Tiger.

Habitat:

Captive butterfly. In an enclosed butterfly garden.

Ok Daniele, I will do that right now for all the ones at Calloway Gardens that were in the enclosed butterfly garden. Joe

Thanks Daniele for your ID. I've been looking at butterfly photos too long tonight. Everything is starting to look the same. (-: Thanks again. Joe

Thanks for your reply Joey! Please indicate this under Habitat. This is important as it is not a native species. You can do the same for other butterflies you spotted at this garden. You can also add them to the Captive Animals mission if you wish:

Daniele, Thanks for the info. Yes, it's a captive. It's in the enclosed butterfly garden at Calloway Gardens in the State of Georgia in the U.S.

Hi Joey99! This is not a Blue tiger butterfly (as in Tirumala sp.). Is it captive?
